Birmingham Airport customer services
Birmingham Airport runs its own customer contact through staffed help points in the terminal and published phone and online routes. The airport lists the current channels on its contact and feedback page, and it runs a customer support centre with online forms and a chat assistant. On the day, a member of staff at a help point in the terminal is the quickest way to reach the airport about the building, wayfinding or an operational issue.
Phone numbers change, and a general enquiries number is quoted inconsistently across third-party sites, so this page sends you to the airport's own site for the current line rather than printing one that may be wrong. The airport handles the terminal, security queues, the forecourts, its official parking products and the wider operation. It does not handle your flight, which is the airline's job, covered below.
Complaints and feedback
Comments and complaints about the airport go through Birmingham Airport's own feedback and complaints route, submitted on its website or through the customer support centre. Send it as soon as you can after the date of travel, with your flight details and what happened, so the airport can look into it. The airport does not publish a fixed response time, so treat its own complaints page as the current word on how long a reply takes.
This route covers the airport itself: terminal facilities, signage, security queues, the parking products, and dealings with airport staff or contractors on site. A complaint about the flight (a delay, cancellation, downgrade, denied boarding, or a bag) goes to the airline, not the airport, as the flight section below explains.
Lost property
Lost property at the airport is run by Luggage Point, the airport's appointed agent, not the airport switchboard and not this site. Found items are logged into an online database in real time, so the fastest first move is to search it yourself at airport-lostproperty.com, and items take a little while to appear after they are handed in. A retrieval fee applies to most items, and it is waived if you collect within 30 minutes. The full process, the fee and the exemptions are on the lost property guide.
Items left on an aircraft are a different matter: they are handled by the airline through its ground agent, not by airport lost property, so contact the airline that operated the flight. Items left on a train or at Birmingham International station go to the rail operator's own lost property route.
Special assistance
Special assistance at the airport is free, available in the terminal, and booked through your airline rather than the airport, ideally at least 48 hours before you travel. The airline records the assistance request on your booking and passes it to the airport's on-site assistance team, who meet you at the point you present and help through to the gate.
If you have not pre-booked, help points around the airport and the assistance desks in the check-in area connect you to the team, though a booked request is met faster at peak. How to arrange it, where to present, and what the service covers is on the special assistance guide.
Parking, drop-off and Blue Badge
Parking bookings, amendments and refunds go through the official parking operator, reached from the parking guide, which also compares every car park. The forecourt set-down charge is billed by NCP, the airport's parking partner, not the airport switchboard:
- Pay a drop-off or set-down charge: online through Post Pay, through a pre-registered NCP AutoPay account, or at the on-site card machines, within 24 hours of leaving. The charges and the free alternative are on the drop-off guide.
- Query a charge or a car park booking: NCP runs the car parks and the set-down billing, so amendments, refunds and disputes go through the airport's car parking support.
- Blue Badge set-down: it is not automatic. Blue Badge holders get the first 30 minutes free at Premium Set Down, validated in person at the NCP Customer Service Cabin with the badge and the vehicle registration. The Blue Badge parking guide has the detail.
These billing routes change, so check them against the airport's own parking pages before you rely on one.
Flight, baggage and refund enquiries
For anything that happened to your flight or your bag, the airline that operated the flight is the right contact, not the airport. The airport runs the infrastructure; the airline runs the flight, the check-in, the boarding, the baggage handling, and the refund and compensation process. The airport cannot issue compensation, change a flight or trace a bag.
A delay, cancellation or denied boarding is a claim against the airline under UK261; a missing or damaged bag is reported to the airline's baggage desk in the reclaim hall before you leave; and a refund comes from whoever sold the ticket. When a delay or cancellation qualifies, and how to claim, is on the delayed and cancelled flights guide, and every carrier that flies from Birmingham is listed on the airlines page.
Press and corporate
Press and media enquiries go to the airport's own media centre, which carries its press releases and traffic statistics. The airport operator is Birmingham Airport Limited (company number 02078273), whose registered office is Diamond House, Birmingham Airport, Birmingham, West Midlands, B26 3QJ; its ownership and the site's independence from it are set out on the legal notice.
Contact this site
birminghamairport-info.co.uk is the independent guide you are reading. It is not the airport, and an email to the site does not reach the airport, an airline, or a parking or hotel operator. To report something that needs fixing on the site, a price that has moved, a number that has changed, a broken link or an out-of-date detail, email contact@birminghamairport-info.co.uk with the page address, the section heading and your source. The same address takes feedback and suggestions.
