What a package is
One booking, one price, a room plus parking; the catch is that three different products share the name.
Every deal on the market is one of three shapes. In the first, the room and the parking are separate places: you sleep at the hotel and the car checks into an airport car park or an off-site compound, either on the evening you arrive or with a short drive on the morning of the flight, and you walk or ride the transfer in. In the second, the parking is meet and greet: the car stays at the hotel overnight, and in the morning you drive to the valet, hand over the keys and walk to check-in. In the third, the hotel itself is the car park: the car sits there for the whole trip and a taxi covers the airport legs, typically £6 to £12 each way at the hotels the brokers list.
Which shape you are buying changes the morning routine, the return leg and what the price needs to beat, so pin it down before comparing numbers. The park, sleep and fly guide walks each shape through hour by hour, from evening check-in to picking the car back up.
The three places to buy
The airport sells packages through its own channel, the brokers carry the widest choice, and some hotels deal direct.
The airport's own route is the hotel and parking packages page, whose booking engine is run with the operator APH. It pairs the four on-airport hotels with the airport's own sites, Car Park 5 or Car Park 1, or with APH's own off-site parking, in one payment. It is the simplest route to the walk-to-check-in hotels and keeps everything official.
The brokers sell the widest spread. Holiday Extras lists around 20 hotels around the airport, quotes packages with 8 days of parking as standard, pairs rooms with the Airparks compounds (a 3-minute shuttle from Airparks Express, about 14 minutes from Airparks Self Park) or Maple Parking's meet and greet, and sells free cancellation on most deals. APH runs a similar shop of its own. Broker from-prices for the same hotels differed from the airport channel's when this page was researched, in both directions, so price your dates in more than one shop.
Some hotels cut out the middleman. The Genting at Resorts World sells a stay, park and fly package with 4, 8, 12 or 15 days of parking on site and a taxi to the airport on the day you fly included; the Arden by the NEC sells a park and fly rate covering the stay and up to 15 nights of parking. Direct deals like these are one reliable way to get whole-trip parking at the hotel itself; the brokers list a handful of hotels with on-site parking too.
Which hotel to pair
For an early flight, pair one of the walkable four with an airport car park; for whole-trip hotel parking, look to the NEC side.
If the point is the flight, the strongest pairing is one of the four on-airport hotels with an airport car park, because the morning shrinks to a walk. The Novotel and Hilton Garden Inn put you a minute or two from the doors at the dearer end; the ibis and ibis budget do the same walk for less. None of the four keeps a general car park of its own, which is exactly why the packaged pairing with Car Park 5 or Car Park 1 exists, and why buying the room and the parking as one booking is the natural move here.
Further out, match the hotel to the shape. The Genting and the Arden are the whole-trip-parking picks. The Holiday Inn packages well but note the broker's own description has the overnight hotel parking charged separately, about £12, before the car moves to a compound in the morning. At the Travelodge, which keeps no overnight parking of its own, be doubly sure you know where the package actually parks you. What it costs, honestly
Both halves are priced like airline seats, so treat every number as a snapshot and price your own dates both ways.
Two patterns hold. First, the floor is low when the hotel is modest and the date is quiet: in July 2026 Holiday Extras' headline for a hotel plus a week's parking started at £39, while the airport's own channel listed its on-airport packages from around £180. Second, the same package prices differently by channel on the same day; the airport engine, APH's site and the brokers all quoted different from-prices for the same on-airport hotels when this page was researched. Neither pattern is a promise: everything moves with your dates.
So run the two-way check before paying. Price the package, then price its parts for the same dates: the room alone, and pre-booked airport parking alone. If the package barely beats the parking by itself, the room is close to free and the deal is good; if your trip lands on an NEC event night, the hotel half inflates and the bundle can lose to booking apart, or to skipping the hotel entirely. The checks before you pay
Five two-minute checks cover the ways these deals go wrong.
- Know where the car sleeps. Hotel car park for the trip, airport car park in the morning, or valet handover: the shape sets your timings and your return leg, and it is the detail most often misread.
- Make sure the booking reached the hotel. With third-party bookings, carry the confirmation and ring the hotel a day ahead to hear your name read back. It is a two-minute call that prevents the worst arrival-desk surprise.
- Ask what the first night's parking costs. Some deals charge separately for the hotel night's parking before the compound takes over, so get the all-in figure, not the headline.
- Check the cancellation line. Free cancellation to the day before is common at the brokers, and the Arden's own rate cancels free until 17:00 the day before arrival, but terms vary by rate; know yours before plans wobble.
- Vet any meet and greet operator. If the package hands your keys to a valet, check the operator against the police-backed AM-GO register or Park Mark first; the meet and greet guide shows how. And whoever takes the car, give the exact registration when you book, because the cameras treat the plate as the ticket.
